Paint protection film (PPF) in Santa Fe Springs
Paint protection film is a clear, self-healing urethane film that takes rock chips, scratches and bug and bird damage instead of your paint. Most people protect the front of the car (bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors) or the whole body. You can barely see it once it is on.
Studio illustrationWhich coverage do you need?
Full front (bumper, full hood, front fenders, mirrors and headlights) covers the panels that take almost all freeway rock chips, and it is the most popular choice. Full body is for new and high-value cars that should look factory-new for years. Partial front is the budget option, but it leaves a visible line across the hood.
Clear, matte or color
Clear gloss film keeps your paint looking the way it does now. Matte (stealth) film turns gloss paint satin while protecting it. Color PPF changes the color and protects at the same time, see color PPF.
PPF and ceramic coating together
PPF stops physical damage. Ceramic coating makes surfaces easier to wash and keeps them glossy. Many owners do PPF on the front and ceramic coating on the rest of the car.
Full front or full body: which coverage fits
PPF cost depends first on how much of the car you cover. Full body costs more than full front because it covers every painted panel: doors, quarters, roof and trunk included. Then the car itself matters. Big SUVs and trucks use more film, and bumpers with sensors, washer jets and deep vents take longer. Edges wrapped around the panel need more film and time than film cut to stop short of the edge, but they hide the line. Paint that needs polishing first, or old film to remove, adds to the job. Send photos and we price both coverage levels so you can compare.
Is a clear bra the same as PPF?
Yes. Clear bra is the older name, from the days when people strapped black vinyl bras over the front of the car. Early clear films were thicker and cloudier. Today's paint protection film is a clear urethane with a topcoat that heals light scratches with heat from the sun or warm water. It sits flat on the paint, and at normal viewing distance you have to look for the edge to find it. If you searched for clear bra near me, this is the same service.
How PPF goes on, and the first two weeks
The car is washed, clayed and wiped down so nothing gets trapped under the film. Each panel is laid wet with a slip solution, positioned, then squeegeed so the water pushes out from under the film. For the first few days you may see small hazy spots or water pockets. That is moisture still drying out, and it clears on its own as the film cures. Wait a few days before the first wash, keep a pressure washer away from the edges for about two weeks, and skip wax for the first month.
PPF on Southern California roads
Around Santa Fe Springs, the 5 and the 605 carry heavy truck traffic, and trucks throw gravel. That is where most front-end chips come from. PPF takes those hits so the factory paint underneath stays original. That matters when you sell: buyers and dealers check for repaint, and original paint holds value better than touched-up chips. The sun is the other factor. Premium film lasts several years, less on the hood and roof, which face the sun all day. Garage or shade parking keeps it clear longer.

How much is PPF at WRAP HUB LA?
It depends on coverage, the car and the film. Text us your car's year, make and model with a photo and we will price full front and full body for you.
Does PPF turn yellow?
Older films did. Current premium films use topcoats made to resist yellowing, and that is part of what the manufacturer warranty covers. We tell you the exact film and its warranty before you book.
