Full front or full body?
Full front covers the bumper, the full hood, the front fenders, the mirrors and the headlights: the panels that take almost every rock chip on the freeway. It is the most popular package for daily drivers. Full body adds the doors, rockers, rear quarters, roof and trunk, so the whole car stays factory-fresh and the film has no visible line across the hood. Some owners add the rocker panels and the area behind the front wheels, which catch stones thrown by the tires.
What makes PPF cost more
Bigger cars need more film and more hours. Bumpers with deep vents, sensors and many edges take longer than flat panels. Wrapped edges, where the film goes around the panel instead of stopping short of it, need parts removed and more labor, but they hide the film line. Matte and color films cost more than clear gloss film. Paint that needs correction first, such as swirl marks or old chips, adds time before any film goes on.
Clear, matte or color
Clear gloss PPF keeps the paint looking exactly as it does now. Matte or stealth PPF turns gloss paint satin while protecting it, and you can go back to gloss by removing it. Color PPF changes the color like a wrap but is thicker, heals light scratches with heat and stops rock chips, which makes it a good fit for a new car you plan to keep.
